ISTE books resonate with educational technology professionals. Why not make them a part of your conference? As an ISTE affiliate, you are entitled to purchase books at up to 45% discount and resell them at your conference. It’s a great way to provide popular resources for your members while raising funds for your organization.

Canadian affiliates, you will still order the books through ISTE (see above) but we have exciting news—your books will be shipped from Canada, resulting in lower shipping costs and faster shipping times. It’s now more economical for you to sell books at your conferences!

Affiliates in Australia and New Zealand will also be able to take advantage of lower shipping costs and faster shipping times now that Australia-based Hawker Brownlow Education will be co-publishing ISTE books. To order books for your conference, or to see if Hawker Brownlow Education is interested in selling books at your conference, please contact Thea Dupay by e-mailor by phone at +61 3 8558 2444.

Tips
**Timing**—Place your order at least two weeks before your conference. Make sure to add extra time if your boxes need to be at an exhibit hall early. ISTE can ship to you or directly to the conference.
**Pricing**—What you charge for an ISTE book is up to you. Our suggested retail price is listed on the affiliate order form. You may want to price the books between the discount you received and the 30% discount that ISTE members already receive for books. A good idea is to round off your prices so you don’t have to make change!
**Set-up**—Everyone has different amounts of space, but it can facilitate browsing to arrange books with similar topics next to each other. Also, if you’re giving things away in the same area, it’s important to make sure people know that the books are //for sale//, especially when they’re smaller (e.g., NETS booklets). You’ll also want to be sure that book prices are easy for customers to find. You can create a sign with a list or put small signs next to each book. Both work well.
**Volunteers**—No matter who’s running your bookstore, you probably should give them a quick training session on what you’re selling, pricing, what type of payment you accept, what happens if you run out, and so forth.

**Discount Schedule –** You receive a discount of up to 45% on the books you purchase.
1—9 books 40%
10—19 books 42%
20—49 books 44%
50+ books 45%

What is working for YOU?
We’d love to hear from you and know that other affiliates would love to hear from you as well. How did you make book sales a success at your conference? Please tell us!

Learn from CECA (Affiliate in Connecticut) how they had great success selling ISTE's books not only at their conference but through their website:

Take a look at how they are marketing books and offering them at “mission-driven” prices, giving their members great deals, while probably only making a small amount to cover costs:

# They have prepared a page on their website regarding their book sales. It contains info about the books, how and when they are sold, books available at the conference, and more. http://www.ceca-ct.org/page.php?pid=5
# Conference attendees receive a free book by one of the keynotes, and can purchase a package deal of four books related to the conference strands.
# You can find out in advance what books will be available, and even order in advance if you want.
# AND they’ve created a voicethread site that shows each book and allows viewers to post a voice thread or written comment. http://voicethread.com/share/625677/
